For a college student and model, hair loss can be a devastating blow to your confidence and your career. Just ask Kiel McKivergan. His thick locks, which for years had been the feature most admired by people when they met him, literally began to go down the drain. However, instead of accepting his fate, he decided to do his homework and see what options were available to him. In his own words, Kiel shares his hair loss success story.
People always notice your hair. Ever since I was a child, people have always said, “Wow, look at Kiel’s hair.” My hair was falling out in the shower for about a year-and-a-half; I thought it would get better but it never did … it was devastating.
I finally decided to do something. After completing research online, I found out that Dr. Leonard was number one in New England. |
Kiel McKivergan after his Luce treatment
|
Within three months of starting Luce (Low Level Laser Light) treatment my hair stopped falling out, and within six months I actually started to see re-growth. It’s a pretty great feeling to look younger and wear your hair the way you want. My girlfriend of five years is quite happy, too, even though she had said my hair loss didn’t bother her. And I’m even getting more modeling jobs now as a result.
I recommend hair restoration to everyone. Maintenance is key and the earlier you get treatment the better. Otherwise you’ll just get balder and balder.
The right treatment for Kiel was Luce, which is designed for men and women just starting to experience hair loss. I also use it as part of my surgery patients’ treatment plan. It’s non-invasive and uses infrared light to convert hairs from the resting phase to the growing phase. Typically, Luce stabilizes the progression of hair loss in 90% of men and women and promotes re-growth in approximately 50%.
