JAYNE: Several years ago I realized I was losing a lot of hair and didn’t want to end up bald, which is rough for women. It’s okay for me, but not so good for women. I went to one of the wig places and was not happy with their product. And after about a year I decided to give up on it. I was watching TV one day, saw a commercial with Dr. Leonard. He said that he could transplant my own hair from the back to the front, and it would be my own hair growing.
I went home, discussed it with my husband, said this is something I really think I’d like to do. For a long time, I wouldn’t go out of the house. I only went out when I had to. I had a long period—I had probably three years, at least three years, when my hair was so bad that I either wore a baseball cap everywhere I went, I wore a hairpiece, or I didn’t go out.
After about a year it was about two inches long, and after 18 months I said—I actually called him up and told him it was the first time I’d cut my bangs in almost two years. I actually had enough hair to cut bangs in two years, and I was totally delighted, extremely happy.
Dr. Leonard is just so cool. He’s like spiffy. He makes you feel at home, at ease. He’s the type of guy that—like come in, kick your shoes off, you know, put your feet up on the table, read the newspaper, have a good time. He made me feel at ease from the first minute I met him. Actually everybody here is the same way; all the technicians, his assistants. They’re all like that. I’m me again. He gave me my old self back, and I don’t think there’s a price you can put on that. I couldn’t possibly be any happier. I really couldn’t.
