Being a young guy, I felt like Dr. Lopresti was my peer and he had plenty of passion about what he does.

NAHRS Focuses on Unraveling the Causes of and Developing Treatments for Hair Loss Disorders

Cranston, Rhode Island – Dr. Robert Leonard, chief surgeon and founder of Leonard Hair Transplant Associates, has been accepted into the North American Hair Research Society (NAHRS), a non-profit organization with the mission of unraveling the causes of, and developing treatments for, hair loss disorders.

The NAHRS, founded in 1990, is comprised of scientists, physicians involved in clinical research, dermatopathologists and other industry partners committed to advancing and promoting knowledge in hair biology, research, and therapy. NAHRS also sponsors a mentorship program in which Dr. Leonard is serving as a mentor this year.

“One of the reasons hair restoration is such an exciting field is that new research, medical treatments and technologies are always emerging,” said Dr. Leonard, New England’s foremost authority in hair restoration. “The North American Hair Research Society is a driving force behind the discussion of these new advancements, and I am honored to be a member.”

Dr. Leonard has more than 25 years of experience in hair restoration and belongs to several professional organizations. He is a founding Secretary and former President of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). He has held multiple leadership roles in the organization, including Chairman of the ISHRS Communications and Public Education Committee and Chairman of the ISHRS Bylaws and Ethics Committee. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the Hair Loss Expert for Johnson and Johnson and the national spokesperson for Rogaine®.
