"I cannot stress the importance of getting ahead of this before it's too late. I’m so glad that I went to Dr. Lopresti and started the process."

Franics Ellis from Barstool Sports Gets FUE Hair Transplant

Last month, our Newton office was buzzing with full Barstool Sports energy. Francis Ellis was in the chair for a FUE hair transplant, and yes, it was exactly as fun as you’d expect. Comedian, writer, and content machine, you’ve seen Francis all over Barstool Sports and recently on Netflix’s Tires with Shane Gillis. He’s also a Harvard graduate, making this one feel extra local.

Francis found us through David Portnoy, who also had hair transplant surgery with Leonard Hair Transplant Associates. After seeing Dave’s surfer hair results, he was sold. What stood out most? How smooth and low stress the entire process felt.

“I felt completely relaxed and taken care of by Dr. Lopresti and his team from the moment I began speaking with them, all the way through the recovery process on the other side.” Francis said. “He put me at ease and worked quickly but carefully through what proved to be a relatively painless procedure.”

Francis could have gone anywhere in the world, but he stayed local on Portnoy’s recommendation. “This isn’t something I’d trust to a paint-by-numbers quack in Istanbul. Go with Dr. Lopresti. Trust me.”

From our side, it was just as memorable. Dr. Lopresti says, “Francis was a great patient, and we are proud to collaborate with him publicly.” He kept the room light, engaged with the team, and quickly became a favorite with our staff.

So why FUE for Francis? It’s a minimally invasive way to move hair from the back of the head into thinning areas. Instead of a long strip, individual follicular units, each with one to four hairs, are harvested and placed exactly where they’re needed.

The right approach depends on your goals, hair, and long-term plan.

High profile or not, it’s about natural results and a smooth, confidence boosting experience. Patients who are open and authentic help move the conversation about hair restoration forward, and Francis is exactly that kind of patient.
