Dr. Robert Leonard to Participate in 20th Scientific Meeting of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery
I will be participating in the 20th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) from October 17-21 in the Bahamas. The ISHRS is the world’s leading authority on hair loss and this conference provides an educational forum for hair restoration experts from around the globe to share their experiences. I am excited and honored to once again participate in this gathering.
While at the ISHRS, I will lead colleagues from around the world in a symposium entitled “Follicular Unit Transplant versus Follicular Unit Extraction: Personal Preference and How to Explain Advantages and Disadvantages to Patients.” The educational discussion will focus on how each donor harvesting method is described to patients; how a surgeon should decide which technique is best for a patient; the role each option can play given the patient’s expectations; and how to address patient misconceptions.
I will also conduct a group discussion entitled “Minoxidil: Use it or Lose It and Other Facts Patients Need to Know.” Minoxidil is a common over-the-counter medication, which is proven to stabilize hair loss and promote hair growth.
