Leonard Hair Transplant Associates Adds New Hair Restoration Surgeon to Practice
Newton, MA (April 11, 2014) – Leonard Hair Transplant Associates (LHTA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Matthew Lopresti will join LHTA as a hair restoration surgeon beginning in April. Dr. Lopresti has spent the past year training under LHTA founder, Dr. Robert Leonard, to learn the art and science of effective hair restoration surgery.
“I first met Matt when he was a medical student who trained with me many years ago, and could tell even then that he was going to be a very skilled doctor. When it came time to expand my practice, Matt was my first choice. He has spent the past year training with me and his surgical skills are representative of what we do at Leonard Hair Transplant Associates.”
Dr. Lopresti completed his medical education at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He continued his training with an internship year at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Pennsylvania, followed by three years of residency at Boston Medical Center for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Lopresti went on to focus his training in spinal cord injury medicine and completed a year in the specialty through Harvard Medical School. He has been an Attending and Medical Director in spinal cord injury medicine at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital for two years.
“Training with arguably one of the best hair transplant surgeons in the world has been a wonderful experience,” said Dr. Lopresti. “In my time at LHTA, I have witnessed firsthand how hair loss can impact a person’s self-esteem, and I look forward to making a difference in people’s lives.”
To initiate Dr. Lopresti into the practice and showcase his abilities, Dr. Leonard is putting his head in Lopresti’s hands. This spring, he will perform a hair transplant procedure on Dr. Leonard using the Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) technique.
Dr. Lopresti will be practicing in all seven LHTA office locations across New England. He is performing all available procedures including: traditional strip harvesting and FUE. “This is a very important strategy for the practice and our patients,” said Dr. Leonard. “We now have two highly-qualified hair transplant surgeons, which will increase our ability to offer more access to procedures and quality care for our patients at LHTA.”
