Give Dad a Break—Even If He’s Losing His Hair
Let’s be honest, Dads do a lot.
They unclog drains.
They grill in 100° heat without complaining.
They assemble furniture without instructions (even if they should use them).
They fix what’s broken, drive everyone everywhere, and let’s not forget, tolerate a lifetime of “Dad jokes” being told at their expense.
But you know what gets added to the punchline list way too easily?
Their hair loss.
“Hey Dad, your forehead’s creeping back again.”
“Need me to buff that shiny spot?”
“Better wear a hat before you blind someone.”
We get it. It’s all in playful fun… until it’s not.
Here’s the thing most people do not realize:
Even the most easygoing dads care about their hair.
They just don’t say it. Because somewhere along the way, guys were taught to shrug it off like it doesn’t matter. And that’s a shame.
I’ve had fathers from every walk of life in my exam chair, from young dads just starting to thin in their 30s, to granddads wanting to feel sharp again in family photos. And while they usually come in with humor, what they are really saying is:
“I want to feel like myself again.”
So, if you’re teasing your dad, uncle, brother, or partner about their bald spot this Father’s Day…
Maybe soften the jokes a bit. Or better yet: have their back.
Let them know there are real, proven options, like hair transplants, PRP with ACell treatments, or laser therapy, and that it’s okay to care about looking and feeling their best.
Because the guy who taught you how to ride a bike, coached your little league games, or stayed up all night when you were sick?
Yeah, he deserves to feel good about his reflection, too.
If you (or your dad!) are noticing signs of hair thinning, schedule a free in-person or virtual consultation with me at Leonard Hair Transplant Associates. We will talk through the options, no pressure, no dad jokes, just honest answers.
Give the guy who gives so much a chance to feel confident again.
Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there!
