Dr. Robert Leonard Honored by Italian Society of Hair Science
Dr. Robert Leonard is recognized by board members of the Italian Society for Hair Science at the organization’s 20th anniversary conference held April 17, 2016 in Florence, Italy.
I truly was honored to participate as an invited international faculty member for the 20th Anniversary meeting of the Italian Society of Hair Science (SITRI) in Florence Italy. This organization includes specialists from multiple disciplines including hair restoration surgery, plastic surgery, dermatology, and dermatology, among others all working together to learn more about the science and aesthetics of hair loss therapy.
The conference offered lectures on all aspects of hair growth, hair loss, and hair restoration. Discussions of medical therapies including minoxidil, finasteride, hormonal treatments, steroid usage, and low-level laser therapy were excellent. I was privileged to answer questions from the audience during the Roundtable Discussion portion of the program. Getting an international perspective on evaluating hair loss was great.
Visiting Tuscany again was fabulous for Dr. Lopresti and me. Florence is a beautiful city full of incredible history, beautiful art, delicious food, and wonderful people. With colleagues and friends, we were able to visit the Uffizi Gallery and to walk for one kilometer in the famous Secret Corridor on the upper portion of the famous Ponte Vecchio.
